Edible Wild Plant Class
Craig Russell will be conducting a walking tour at our farm on June 5, 2010.
The class is scheduled for 10:00 am. Class size is limited to 20, so there will be plenty of time for questions and everyone can be involved. The cost of the 2 hour (approx) class will be $20.00 per person. Interested attendees should pay and register in advance.
Craig has spent his lifetime foraging the woods for wild edibles learning from his grandparents at a very young age. He has been an active hiker/camper and has even hiked and foraged thourghout Europe and most of Asia. He has taught numerous outdoor survival courses and has a long-time interest in traditional foods spured by his foraging. He has run a truck farm and small poultry business and worked for 12 years at Clyde Pealings Reptile Land Zoo in Union County, south of Williamsport, and recently retired from the Department of Enviromental Protection. He has a Bachelors Degree in Biology and History, and is the president of The Society for the Preservation of Poultry Antiquities.
