Join me at the Sewickley Public Library (412-741-6920) March 15, April 12 and May 10 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm and we will dig in the dirt and have some fun. This three-part series is $25. Checks should be payable to The Green Chef, LLC. A small snack will be offered at each gathering.

You will learn about organic gardening and lawn care, making and using compost, teaming with the microbes that will help you, planting herbs and flowers that attract beneficial insects, the soil food web, and permaculture. You will consider saying good-bye to chemicals, rototilling and double-digging-which is great because gardening gets a whole lot easier. We will discuss different garden designs including raised beds and patio planting. I will have lots of hand outs to help you.

Discussion topics: chemical free gardening, the soil food web, planting flowers to attract beneficial insects and garden design.

Hands-on: transplanting seedlings, planting more seeds including flowers and herbs that attract beneficial insects. Plan to wear old clothes, and bring a notebook, pencil, trowel and gardening gloves.
