1 pound Turnips
3 Tbs. Maple Syrup
3 Tbs. Butter
3 Tbs. Bourbon
Peel and slice turnips into 3/4" rounds.
Melt butter in a pan and add the bourbon and maple syrup.
Add turnips and slowly cook uncovered, turning occaisionally, until carmelized.
"This dish is a great accompaniment to meat dishes. Probably anything would taste good braised this way, but turnips work especially well," according to Chris Fullerton, Director of Consumer Outreach for the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture.
