Green Smoothie
A great pick-me-up for the morning, or anytime of the day for that matter!
In a blender, add: a handful of fresh spinach, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/2 of a banana, 1 T of raw honey, 8 oz of almond milk (or organic cow's milk if tolerated), and a few ice cubes. Jazz it up & make it a superfood smoothie by adding a pinch of raw cacao nibs, spirulina, kelp and/or ground flaxseed.
Pulse in the blender until all ingredients are well combined into a smooth, slushy treat.
I've found this can replace my morning coffee with the energy it provides in delicious & nutritious foods blended up for a morning drink. Let me know how it was for you to try this combo.
TIP: if you find that drinking spinach grosses you out, don't worry, I did too. So just start with a few leaves of spinach, and gradually day-by-day add a few more leaves until you finally get accustomed to the taste of more in the smoothie. I started with only 5 leaves, and now just grab a handful. Enjoy!
