About Harvest Valley Farms
Harvest Valley Farms is a small diversified family farm located near Pittsburgh, PA. Our mission is to sustain our community and farm by growing the highest quality produce using the least amount of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers possible. We Market our produce through three farmers markets, a farm market store, 350 member CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), a fall festival on the farm, Paragon/Montverde and the Pittsburgh Community Foodbank.
For our CSA, we determine what we have ready and available each week. We then hand pick the produce, wash it, bag the perishables (lettuce, spinach, green beans...etc), and fill each crate to the correct amount depending on Regular or Advanced Membership. Next we deliver it to the designated drop site. Early in the season it is very difficult to produce enough diversity of crops to fullfill all of the choices therefore we do supplement with local free-range eggs, honey from the bees that pollinate our crops, homemade jams/jellies, and local organic cheese.
